Salvia roemeriana India When the plants matureSalvia roemeriana is a charming and very easy to grow dwarf North American native (Texas, Mexico) sage. I first caught a glimpse of Roemer's sage on a 1994 expedition to Northern Mexico. This deciduous perennial salvia makes a short rosette of dark green leaves with purple veins. In spring it flowers heavily, topped with 12" spikes of bright crimson red, tubular flowers great for low flying hummingbirds. It has survived 0 degrees F here with no
